Solo Chet is
Jazz Guitarist Terry Costello singing the songs of Chet
Baker. Details of SoloChet gigs will be displayed as they come
to hand.
With the
assistance of a portable Roland AC33 amplifier SoloChet
travels light and can do gigs at street locations. Favoured
locations include Lygon Court in Carlton and other locations in
Melbourne's inner North.
The inspiration for Solo Chet
comes from the singing and artistry of the mighty Chet Baker and
the groundbreaking solo virtuoso jazz guitar legend Joe
Pass.
Joe Pass's collaborations with
Jazz Vocalist Ella Fitzgerald in the 1970's and 1980's demonstrate
the possibilities of Solo Jazz Guitar and vocals and are a seminal
influence on Solo Chet.
It is hoped
that SoloChet gigs will occur on an impromptu basis at various
locations and street busking sites.Stay Tuned to Facebook &
Twitter for details of gigs and other events.
Terry Costello
is also a member of the Tiny Chet Trio, Westcoast Little Big
Band, Skidaddle and the
Port Phillip Showband which have
played at the Inverloch Jazz Festival
which is held on the March Labour Day Long
Weekend
