Solo Chet is
Jazz Guitarist Terry Costello singing the songs of Chet
Baker.
The
inspiration for Solo Chet comes from the singing and artistry of
the mighty Chet Baker and the groundbreaking solo virtuoso jazz
guitar legend Joe Pass.
Joe Pass's
collaborations with Jazz Vocalist Ella Fitzgerald in the 1970's and
1980's demonstrate the possibilities of Solo Jazz Guitar and vocals
and are a seminal influence on Solo Chet.
It is hoped
that Solo Chet will play at Inverloch Jazz Festival on an impromptu
basis at one of the Festival's open stage locations as well as at
some impromptu gigs at one or more of Inverloch's many cafes during
the festival.
Terry Costello
is also a member of the Tiny Chet Trio, Westcoast Little Big Band
and Port Phillip Showband which are playing at the 17th Inverloch Jazz
Festival which is to be held from Friday March the 5th to
Monday March the 8th. The Final
program of the Festival has been released.
